Dog Man is the third installment in the popular graphic novel series from author and illustrator Dav Pilkey. In this book, Dog Man must face off against Petey, the world's most evil cat, and Li'l Petey, his pint-sized sidekick.
Chapter 1: Petey Takes A Swing
The story begins at the Petey Park Jubilee, a celebration of Petey the Cat's release from prison. Petey announces his plans to take over the world and starts attacking the crowd. But Dog Man, police dog turned superhero, is on hand to save the day. Petey is ultimately stopped when Dog Man forces him to make a choice between Li'l Petey, his little sidekick, and a million dollars in gold. Petey chooses the gold, allowing Dog Man to save the day.
Chapter 2: To the Rescue
Dog Man is hailed as a hero but Petey and Li'l Petey escape in an airship. Dog Man and his allies set off in pursuit but are defeated by Petey's giant robots. Dog Man is forced to crash-land and finds himself sinking to his death in quicksand. Luckily, he is rescued by Sergeant Fluffenshmeeker and his stealthy hamster agents.
Chapter 3: Catnapping
Dog Man and the gang locate Petey's hideout and bursts in to rescue Li'l Petey. But things take a turn for the worse when Dog Man is forced to confront Petey and his giant mechanical spider. Petey unleashes Li'l Petey's special power -- to turn people into cat versions of themselves. The heroes are soon turned into cats and it is up to Dog Man to break the spell.
Chapter 4: Petey Unleashed
Dog Man and the others manage to free themselves from Petey's spell. But before they can return Li'l Petey to safety, Petey activates the ultimate weapon - the Interdimensional Explosive! Dog Man must find a way to stop Petey before it is too late.
Chapter 5: The Big Showdown
After a long, epic battle, Dog Man and Petey face off in an interdimensional battle. Tapping into the power of friendship, Dog Man is able to beat Petey and save the day. Dog Man defeats Petey into folding up the Interdimensional Explosive and they all go back to their own realm.
Though they've managed to save the day, one thing is certain: Dog Man will have to face Petey again some day. With Petey out for revenge, it's going to be an exciting few books in this amazing series.
