Chapter 4: Moomin, Sniff, and Snufkin make a daring attempt to cross the Bridge of Death, and though they successfully make it to the other side, they realize that the comet has been destroyed by its own intense heat. Next, they escape from two fierce trolls who have followed them to the Valley of the Bridge.

Chapter 5: With the trolls still in pursuit, Moomin, Sniff, and Snufkin make their way across the desert to the Strange Mountains. Here, they meet two Cave Dwellers who introduce them to the remains of a mysterious civilization. Moomin and his friends learn that the people of this civilization built a giant door to protect themselves from the comet.

Chapter 6: Having discovered the door, Moomin and his friends travel to the Comet Observatory, where they find the pieces of the comet, along with the plans to rebuild it. With the help of the Cave Dwellers, Moomin succeeds in reassembling the comet and returning it to its rightful place in the sky. The inhabitants of Moominvalley rejoice as the comet safely passes by.

Chapter 7: As a reward for their bravery, Moomin and his friends receive the secret of the Valley of the Bridge, which they use to become wealthier than ever before. Equipped with their newfound wealth, Moomin, Sniff, and Snufkin return to Moominvalley, where they are welcomed home with a grand celebration.
